Details
Super high-grade Brazilian on this Collings, tight-grained, quarter sawn, and perfectly book-matched. The Adirondack top is also exceptional, making this D2H a prize for lovers of top-grade tone woods. The lacquer has settled into the pores of the rosewood, and the mahogany neck has some nice figure. There are a few very small dings in the finish, and the finish has lifted a little bit just in front of the leading edge of the ebony bridge. This is NOT from the bridge being loose, it's from the method Collings was using back then to clean lacquer off the spruce top before gluing down the bridge. An excellent-sounding Brazilian Dreadnought, with all the projection and overtones that have made the Adirondack/Brazilian combination so highly prized for steel-string guitars of all sizes.
