Details
Tim Scheerhorn started building resonator guitars in 1989 and he quickly earned a reputation for making incredible sounding guitars. Tim built this square-neck R-Style guitar in 1995 from lovely figured maple. (His dated signature is on a label and on the back under the resonator.) It's in excellent structural condition. The finish is in good shape and while it doesn't have any major scratches or dings, it does have numerous light scoffs and nicks. This is Tim’s smaller bodied guitar, with a shape that was inspired by the guitars Regal was making under their own brand as well as the Dobro name in Chicago in the 1930s.
This guitar has Tim Scheerhorn’s own open-chamber design with six soundposts, an internal sound baffle, and the special handspun Scheerhorn cone. The cast spider bridge is capped with maple bridge inserts and the classic fan coverplate. The neck is made of matching figured maple with mother-of-pearl dot inlays on the ebony fretboard that’s embellished with ivoroid binding. The guitar is stylishly finished with screened soundhole rings, a traditional tailpiece, and chrome-plated hardware. If you’re seeking something truly special in a resonator guitar, Tim Scheerhorn’s instruments are the ones. Includes a Gig Bag.
