Details
This almost 30-year-old Goodall has seen a lot of playing, and it has an immediate ready-to-go-at-the-slightest-touch tone. That's probably partly the result of the cedar top, but all those hours of being played sure didn't hurt. Yep, it shows signs of much use, and the neck reset wasn't done as carefully as it might have been (resulting in the gouge to the top next to the fingerboard on the bass side). But thanks to the reset and a newish set of frets it's a joy to play. If you like guitars that deliver a lot of sound with very little effort, this Goodall will impress.
The armrest has been on there for many years, and it's comfy, so we decided to leave it in place. (There will be a ghost image of the armrest on the top where it shadowed the UV light and kept the top from darkening a bit in that location.) Despite all the use this Goodall has seen there are no cracks to be found. Tuners and bridge are original, as is the finish except for some touchup on the treble side, lower bout. The original owner had the second inlay added to the headstock.
