Details
An early Collings C10, dated 2/93 on the label, and signed by Bill Collings. It's been played a LOT, as evidenced by the wear to the neck finish and to the top (see photos). Not too long ago it was given a partial refret (up to the 12th) so it plays just fine. This is from the early days of Collings before Bill tackled mandolins, ukes, or electrics, and it was still a small crew. Is that why this C10 sounds so good? Or is it all the hours it's been played? We don't know, but while it has seen lots of playing it never got bounced or bashed, the only crack, if you can call it that, is the center seam of the top opening a bit as shown. Pickup is a Fishman Matrix (active). Original case is in great shape, which is a small mystery considering how much the guitar got played.
