Details
Around the time this 0-17 was made 89 years ago, Martin's catalogs had a simple line at the bottom of the page showing Style 17 models which read: "Many Styles, One Quality." If you look inside this 0-17, and then look inside a pearl-bordered top-of-the-line Martin model, you'll see the same careful woodworking in both.
This is one the nicest 0-17 models we can remember seeing and except for a neck reset, plus an excellent facsimile of the original bridge, it's original throughout. There are no cracks that we could find, and the original pickguard and tuners are in excellent shape. Unlike later versions of this model, it has the 1 3/4" wide neck. The top braces are scalloped, so it has a rich warm tone with more bass response that you expect from an 0 model. The finish does show some surface wear, but it's the original lacquer.
