Details
The pot on this Vega Whyte Laydie was made in 1922, so it most likely started life as a 17-fret tenor banjo. Sometime ago, we’re not sure when, Wyatt Fawley made a 5-string neck for it. The new maple neck is beautifully crafted and has some of the nicest inlay engraving we've seen in the original Vega style. It has been fitted with an Elite tailpiece and Five Star Planetary tuning machines with ivoroid buttons. It has a skin head that was recently installed. This banjo has been played and there's very light fret wear but the rest of the neck shows no wear or signs of use. Includes a hardshell case.
