Details
We sold this combination of an original Tubaphone shell with a new Bart Reiter neck at least a couple of decades ago, but it looks different now. The owner had fond memories of a 1960s Vega banjo he'd had as a kid, so had his Vega-Bart's neck refinished, adding Waverly guitar gears, to replicate that "folk banjo" look of 60 years ago.
The sunburst finish on the Bart Reiter neck is excellent, done by Addam Stark in Santa Cruz, and there's no argument that the Waverly 16-to-1 gears offer the smoothest tuning you'll ever find on a banjo. The tone is classic Tubaphone, and it's highly playable as you would expect from Bart Reiter. Comes with an excellent TKL hardshell case.
