Details
We’re always excited when Taylor does a limited run of baritone guitars because they are a great value and help introduce an intriguing guitar sound to a wide range of musicians. Taylor’s AD26e Baritone-6 Special Edition has a solid mahogany top, solid sapele back and sides, a combination that produces a rich, mellow rumble, just what you want to hear from a baritone guitar. And thanks to Taylor’s famously playable necks, this guitar is a breeze to play even with its 27-inch scale length. The AD26e has a Grand Symphony body, which is a bit larger than their Auditorium body.
The AD26e Baritone-6 is tuned B-to-B, and players can easily return it to standard tuning by placing a capo at the fifth fret. It’s part of the American Dream Series, and these guitars have a simple, stripped down look. The appointments for this special-edition release include black binding, a black/maple/black single-ring rosette, 4mm Dot fretboard inlays in Italian acrylic, a firestripe pickguard, nickel hardware, a full-body matte finish, and and a shaded edgeburst color treatment for the back, sides, and top, with a heel burst on the neck. As Taylor aptly puts it, "Everything you need, nothing you don’t."
