Details
Introduced in 1996, the 000-28EC (for Eric Clapton) essentially put Martin's Vintage Series on the map, and it's been one of the most, if not THE most, popular 000 models ever since. Based on the vintage 000 Martins Clapton played during his acoustic come-back of the 1990s, the combination of the short (24.9") string scale and modified V neck result in a smooth playing fingerstyle guitar with excellent balance between bass and treble making it suitable for a wide range of styles. Of course Martin made a lot of 000 models with these same features back in the mid-1930s, and most of those were played with a flatpick and contemporary players often flatpick this model as well. Except for those players who just have to have a Dreadnought this is one of the most versatile Martin models.
