When describing the recent mahogany topped Collings guitars that we have in stock, I tend to use a phrase akin to "I can't believe how bright this hard wood topped guitar is!"
This mahogany topped C-10, not only has a great treble sparkle, but also a very strong midrange presence that works wonders in helping fingerstyle playing cut through. This guitar is also a great strummer with a big presence that work well to accompany a high-range (alto or soprano) vocalist.
